OSU Symphonic Band & Concert Band Auditions – Spring 2020
Auditions for Symphonic Band and Concert Band will take place during the week of November 13 – 15, 2019. Auditions will take place in Dr. Henderson’s office.
Audition Times
Sign-up for your audition time using the online sign-up sheet. Note: use the page tabs on the bottom of the sheet to select different days.
Who Should Audition?
EVERYONE is welcome and encouraged to audition. The following people are required to audition for Symphonic Band / Concert Band
- Music majors and minors (except those already playing in Wind Ensemble)
- Non-music majors on out-of-state tuition waivers or band scholarships
What to prepare
The following excerpts.
- Flute
- Oboe
- Bassoon
- Clarinet
- Bass Clarinet (please audition on individually selected solo or etude)
- Saxophone
- Trumpet
- Horn
- Trombone
- Bass Trombone (play as much of the regular trombone excerpts as possible, and prepare one brief bass trombone excerpt of your choosing)
- Euphonium
- Tuba (play lower octave when part splits)
- Percussion (Wayne / Remi select audition rep.)
Ensemble Meeting Times
Symphonic Band meets M / W / F from 12:30 – 1:20, and Concert Band meets T / Th from 12:30 – 1:45.
